The Rev. Krista Paradiso (she/her/hers) received her MDiv from Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary in 2013 and began serving as a pastor in the Northern Illinois Annual Conference in 2014. She believes with all her heart that the gospel of Jesus Christ calls us to experience and offer the love of a God who is bigger, messier, and more mysterious and joyful than anything we could imagine. She is a frequent asker of questions that start with “why?” and tends to follow up with some version of “what do you imagine would happen if we...?”
After serving three churches in Chicago, Krista remains passionate about creative worship experiences that draw together people of all ages to experience God and being the church. She grew up Roman Catholic, spent time as an evangelical fundamentalist and later an agnostic, and eventually became a member of the United Methodist Church when she encountered a Reconciling church in Columbus, OH. She loves intersectional justice work and is excited about the work that Northbrook UMC has done and continues to do for the good of people of all sexualities, races, ethnicities, abilities, and other ways of being in the world.
Krista also enjoys making food and messes and music, playing, reading, and laughing with her family. In her spare time, she reads anything and everything she can get her hands on, does modern quilting, gardens, and lays on the floor listening to music.
