Mijin joined the staff of Northbrook UMC in 2009. Born and raised in a faithful Christian family in Seoul, Korea, she showed an early love for art and music and began piano lessons at age five. She went on to serve for 10 years as an accompanist and children’s choir director.
Mijin earned a Master of Music degree in piano and voice from Northern Illinois University and also studied music education and organ. She has served on the piano faculty of the Music Academy of Chicago, conducted the Jump Children’s Choir, and currently teaches at the Merit School of Music in addition to maintaining a private lesson studio.
She lives in Wheeling with her husband, Jake, and enjoys spending time in nature, traveling, and watching the Food Network.
